Privacy policy
Orbit is run by Tony Bradley ("we"). This policy explains what we collect when you use Orbit on the web or on iOS, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. Questions: support@orbitfocusapp.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, a password (stored only as a hash by our auth provider), your username, display name and time zone.
- Sign in with Google or Apple: if you use either, we receive your name, email address and, from Google, your profile picture link. We use them only to create and sign in to your account. We don't request access to your contacts, files, calendar or any other Google or Apple data, and we never sell or share this information or use it for advertising.
- Focus activity: each session's start and end time, length, planet type, the optional "working on" text you type, whether the session landed or broke, and how long the app was in the background during it. We use this to grow your planets, keep streaks fair and stop cheating.
- Plans and coach chats: the messages you send the AI coach, its replies, and the daily plan it builds. Don't put sensitive personal information in coach messages.
- Crews and live sessions: which crews you belong to, the live sessions you host or join, and whether you are focused or away while in one (shown to the other people in that session).
- Purchases: if you buy Orbit Pro, our payment processor handles your card. We only receive a customer ID, the subscription status and its renewal date. We never see or store card numbers.
- Invite links: when someone opens a crew invite link we count the click and the source tag in the link (like "tiktok"). We don't record who clicked.
What is public
Your public universe at /u/your-username shows your display name, username, planets, streak and focus totals. People in a crew or live session with you see your display name and live status. Your email, chats and session notes are never public, and your plans aren't either unless you turn on the plan page below.
Opt-in plan page and waitlist. If you switch on "Public plan page" in Settings, /p/your-username shows today's plan blocks, which ones you've landed, your streak and whether you're focusing right now. It's off until you turn it on, and turning it off hides it straight away. If you join the iPhone waitlist, we keep your email (and whose link you joined from) only to email you about the launch. Email support@orbitfocusapp.com to be removed.
How we use it
- To run Orbit: sign you in, time sessions, grow and save your planets, run crews and live sessions, and build your plan.
- To process Pro subscriptions and give you the features you paid for.
- To keep Orbit fair and secure, for example detecting time spent away from a session.
- To fix problems and understand, in aggregate, which features people use.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who processes it for us
We share data only with providers that run parts of Orbit for us, under their own data protection terms:
- Supabase: database, sign-in and realtime presence.
- Cloudflare: web hosting.
- Anthropic: the AI model behind the coach. It receives your coach messages and today's plan context to write replies.
- Stripe (web) and Apple with RevenueCat (iOS): payments.
- Google and Apple: sign-in, if you choose them.
- Our email provider, to send sign-up and password emails.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect people's safety or our rights.
Cookies and local storage
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. Your browser also stores a few preferences, like your last planet type and strict mode, in local storage. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. Coach chats are kept so the coach can continue today's conversation. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, sessions, planets, plans, chats and memberships right away. Crews you captain are deleted too. Payment records that the law requires us to keep stay with our payment processor.
Your choices and rights
- Change your display name in Settings.
- Delete your account and its data at any time from Settings → Delete account. If you have Pro on the web, deleting your account cancels it.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to some processing. Email support@orbitfocusapp.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
Orbit is for people 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact support@orbitfocusapp.com and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to the database is restricted by row-level security, and only our servers can write to it. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong password you don't use elsewhere.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, they use approved safeguards for these transfers.

Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
